Sony(R) Singstar(R) Wireless Microphones - Review
Here´s a little review for the new microphones produced by Sony(R):

- One USB receiver
- One USB cable with a mini-b connector
- Four AA alkaline batteries
Specifications:
- USB connector: USB type 1.1
- Interface: RF 2.4 GHz, GFSK
- Power consumption (USB receiver): max. 100mA @ 5 V
- Power consumption (Microphones): max. 25 mA @ 3 V
- Dimensions (USB receiver): 105 x 65 x 44 mm
- Dimensions (Microphones): (Intersection 48 x 239 mm)
- Total weight: 389 g (without AA batteries)
- Operation temperature: 5°C - 35 °C

- The microphones are recognized as: "Wireless Mic #SERIAL"
- The radio station has a little "BIND" button:
-> to search for the mics if they do not connect automatically
-> to register new mics with the station (a maximum of two mics can be registered) if one of them is broken
- There is one LED on each microphone:
-> GREEN: power connection / wireless connection established
-> RED flashing slow: search for wireless connection / data transfer
-> RED flashing fast: Mics will be automatically turned of after 15 minutes if IDLE
-> RED permanent: No wireless radio station found / No connection

Pro:
- Wireless
- Quick and easy setup and connection
- Use more than one wirless station simultaniously (to connect four and more mics without conflicts)
- No need to install any drivers
- Quality is definitly better than the old wired mics
- Microphone has a "lock" function to avoid an unintentional power down
- Works with rechargable batteries (tested 1400mAh and 3600 mAh ; both @ 1.2 V)
Contra:
- Doesn´t come with rechargeable batteries
- No "mute" switch
- Short USB Mini-B connection cable
- Expensive
- Same problem as wired mics: can´t hear yourself [1] | [2] (usb)
- "Small" connection area (radius of 5 m)
