Hardware List

Listing of devices that are know to work with UltraStar Deluxe. May it be a microphone, a USB soundcard or any device that could be used to sing - name it, pricing and a online shop where you bought it (or one you can really recommend) would be nice :)

Please don't hotlink pictures from other websites, upload them into the Wiki and give them a 50 pixels width - simply with “filename?50”. In my opinion it would be good if we sort the devices by genre (microphones first, then soundcards ..) and then by price.

SingStar™ PSX2 USB Microphones hardware_singstar_usb_mics.jpg hardware_singstar_usb_unpacked.jpg 25€ to 39€ We recommend these, they work like a charm with Windows and Linux. You can either get them with a game bundled, or separately. Just make sure the adapter is within the package when you buy them at ebay, you may even buy them at your local games store - so you even have a guaranty if they stop working. Also it's just fair we give the London Studio guys some money for their hard work!

TerraTec© Aureon 5.1 USB MK II 35€ to 45€ A normal USB sound card, like the Singstar™ adapter it processes the microphone input to your USB port. Most of the USB sound cards do have just one mono-microphone input - which means you can use such a card together with your internal sound card to play the two player mode in UltraStar Deluxe. If you should have a device with a stereo mic-jack (very rare) you can use a Y-cable (a splitter-cable that splits the stereo jack into two mono jacks) to connect two mics to your soundcard. Any other USB audio device should work too, so your not forced to use this in particular - but as a user owns it we're sure that it works 100%.

Micrsoft® Lips™ Wireless Microphones lips.jpg 57€ to 65€ The Microsoft® Lips™ Wirless Microphones does not work yet for PC (even with Xbox 360™ Wireless Adapter).

Sweex External Sound Card 7.1 USB 2.0 [SC016] sc016.jpg 30€ ? An external USB soundcard with 2 microphone inputs for stereo recording. I saw it in a shop but I didn't test it. But it probably should work. Sweex product website
SoundBlaster X-Fi Go 45€ An external USB soundcard with 1 microphone input. I bought and test it with a microphone splitter, but the mic input appears to be MONO, so only one microphone can be connected. Creative product website
